Our Story

For over 155 years, The Cross Church has been part of the story of Wylie and beyond. What began in 1870 as a small rural gathering has grown into a thriving, multi-generational church reaching people locally and around the world. While names, buildings, and styles have changed over the years, one thing hasn’t: our passion to remove barriers and help people experience Jesus.

What We Believe

Our foundation is simple and clear:

  • God: One God in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus: Fully God and fully human, our Savior.
  • The Bible: God’s true and authoritative Word.
  • People: Created by God, in need of grace, offered new life through Jesus.
  • The Church: A community of believers living out God’s mission together.
